Hector Yuzon was there to personally oversee the analysis. In my head, I imagine myself running smoothly and gracefully, until Hec showed me my footage. He paid painstaking attention to the video and explained that I tend to strike with my heel, and that my right foot points outwards when I run, which makes it overpronate. So basically, when I run, my feet look like this:
I exaggerated this a bit for show
Hec took a look at my old runners and asked the longest distance I've run with them (21K) and asked if I felt any pain from using them (nothing out of the ordinary). He recommended a mild stability shoe, and to perhaps stick to the lightweight category, the same as my NB 805. However, after taking a bit of time making a selection from the dozen or so shoes that Hec pointed out to be a good fit with my needs, I ended up with a Mizuno Wave Inspire 6. It's my first time to run with Mizunos, so this'll make for an interesting time.
Soon to be Mrs. PWW was also retiring her old pair of Brooks, and after her gait analysis (her footage apparently looked like the bride of Frankenstein's Monster trying to tango), and with the dozen or so choices she was given, she independently, and without knowing, ended up with the Mizuno Wave Inspire 6 for women. Actually, she was the first one to decide on which shoe to get. It just sounds better this way so if anyone accuses anybody else of copying, it'd be her instead of me.
Next stop, matching running tops.
