Puting Bato

Last Sunday, I went on a trail ride with my usual riding group to Puting Bato, which is fast becoming one of my favorite trails to go to. After a long break from weekend rides due to rain, we finally managed to get a ride in, and it seems so did half of Metro Manila--the sheer number of bikers who either stopped at or passed through Burger King in Marcos Highway was incredible. I must have counted at least 50 in the span of me eating my Spam croissant breakfast (which doesn't take long).

BK Marcos Highway is one of the standard meeting places for bike rides in the Rizal area.

A Quick Day Trip to Los Baños

In dire need to get out of the city and under some tall trees, we packed a bag and went for a quick day trip to Los Baños, Laguna with an itinerary consisting of three words: Makiling Botanic Gardens. Home to a large tract of tropical rainforest and a creek which could have easily lulled you to sleep with its relaxing sound, it made for a quick, sweet escape.

Waiting for the Weekend

It's one of the best feelings I know--the pleasure of having just a little bit over 48 hours to do whatever you want to: reach a goal, broaden your perspective, find a release, pursue a passion. The time is yours if you take it. Use it well and it might just change your life.

Welcome to Pinoy Weekend Warrior.
