Welcome to Pinoy Weekend Warrior.
My name is Leland Pasion. At the time of writing, I'm an almost 27 year old, overworked editor for an IT Research Company. I had to tell you about the overworked part because it's a key ingredient that led me to rediscover the value of the two free days at the end of the week. My job is somewhat demanding, and much like any other regular desk-bound paper pusher, I find it stressful at times, especially during seven day work weeks or 24 hour shifts (both are equally horrendous). All of the pent-up frustration and pressure of course need to find a release, and I've discovered first hand that "relaxing" at home isn't always the best way to decompress after a long week. Thus started my mantra of making the most out of my Saturdays and Sundays by going out there and grabbing the bull by the horns. You work hard, then you play hard.

Through this blog, I aim to share my exploits with you all in the hopes of inspiring people to get up and get out. Whether it's picking up a new sport or dusting off your running shoes, discovering the nooks and crannies of your own city on a bike or going to a province 12 hours away by bus, if on Monday you carry the thought that was a great weekend, it's time well spent.
Also, I'm hoping that this site becomes a place where other weekend warriors share their own stories, photos, haikus (maybe), ideas, anything! about their own adventures, and help build an army of people who run, bike, travel, and discover. You can reach me at pinoyweekendwarrior@gmail.com
Onward!
